The boys are FULL of energy lately and you really have to watch their every move! I think I am definitely going to have my work cut out for me as these two little guys get older. Some of their favorite things to do lately are:
1. Try to crawl up the stairs without mommy or daddy (this is probably the scariest of them all)
2. Climb on top of the fireplace
3. Put every wire and remote in our mouth
~ I don't have any pictures of this since I am quick to get them from their mouths!
4. Push..we LOVE to push everything! We want to push it through our playroom, through the house, through the house in our playroom, you name it.
5. Climb...anything and everything. Their favorite is to climb over Jared and I while we are on the floor playing with them...it's like an instant fort.
But...when you see this sweetness at the end of the day, you can't help but smile.

Happy Mother's Day to Me!
Every day there are multiple times in which I look at one or both of our amazing little guys and think of how incredibly blessed we are to have them in our lives. The amount of smiles, laughter, and overall joy that they bring to me alone is almost unbearable! They are becoming such independent little guys lately and I find myself desperately wanting them to slow down but also encouraging them to reach new milestones. Being a Mommy is definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done but it is by far the most rewarding.
However, our morning this morning was more eventful than I think any Mommy could have wanted. We had previously given Coleman eggs for breakfast and he had a mild reaction, but we were also introducing a lot of new foods at the time as well as sippy cups. So, with my sweet husband making breakfast this morning I decided that we should try it again, after all Coleman is my "try anything and everything" boy when it comes to food. He LOVED them and gobbled down quite a few without and side effects, so off I went to get ready while Jared watched the munchkins. It wasn't long before up the stairs Jared and Coleman came...Coleman was completely broken out on his face in a red rash, his eye was red and running, along with his nose. My heart sank and I instantly paged our doctor on call at the hospital who ran through a gambit of questions before telling me his reaction was mild and benedryl was all that was needed. Needless to say, I wasn't feeling like Mommy of the year this morning but at least his sweet personality seemed to be unaffected! Here is our little guy on the way to church this morning:
After an eventful morning and church, Coleman decided to take a LONG nap, so Carter had some one one two time with Jared and I. We had a good time with our little guy playing outside while his brother caught up on some much needed rest.
Afterwards we tried out our bike trailer that we had purchased while I was pregnant (it was on super clearance!). The boys were NOT fans of wearing their helmets and it didn't take long before we realized that they may not be old enough for this yet. Oh well, maybe another day!

A New Bundle of Joy!
While we were at the race celebrating all of the blessings we have received over the last two years, another little blessing was entering this world! My sister-in-law gave birth to her first son! I couldn't wait to get my hands on that sweet little guy and fall head over heels in love with him this afternoon when we got to meet him. He is beautiful and looks JUST like his mommy and is adapting to this new world and all the bright lights well. Here are some new pictures of their sweet family of 3..and a pretty proud aunt and uncle :o)

Busy Weekend and an Awesome Cause
This weekend we loaded up our family of 4 and headed to North Carolina to visit friends and to run in the Duke 5k for brain tumor research. It was so great to see everyone and to run in such an amazing event.
After the boys nap on Friday, we toted them along to the school I used to teach at and three other friends houses. They were TROOPERS and even though they are a little Mommy needy these days they did well seeing everyone and playing with two cute little girls. I forgot to take pictures of these great visits but was fortunate to have Emily remember to take one of the boys with Emily and Mike's sweet, sweet girl, Lily....
On Saturday morning we were up bright and early to head off to the Duke campus for our race. We were joined by 4 awesome friends and many of you who donated to our team through your gifts and prayers. It meant so much to Jared and I to participate in this and to celebrate all of the blessings we have received over the past 2 years since his surgery. We had a great time and hope to make it an annual trip and event. The boys LOVED watching all of the other racers around us and the fun things to do at the race. After the race, Kara and Monte hosted a cookout at their house to continue the fun filled day!
We can't wait to see all of these wonderful friends again!
