Run, Run, Run....As Fast As You Can!

Okay, so Jared and I may not be the fastest runners out there (especially since I'll be pushing a double stroller!), but we are beyond honored that one of my best friends, Kara, has created a team to race and raise money for brain tumor research at Duke this April. The race is the Angels Among Us race supporting the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke. Of course our family of four will be there to support such a worthy cause in hopes that others can experience the miracles and blessings we have through the talents of the Duke neurosurgeon team and facility!

Here is a link to the page that Kara created. If you are not in the NC area, or are not a runner, you are welcome to participate through a donation.

Beautiful Weekend (Part 2)

So of course after being outside and enjoying the weather all day on Saturday we were all very excited that the weather was even nicer today!

After church we stopped off at Lowe's so Jared could get some things he needed to hang the boys swings in our backyard:

The boys and I enjoyed playing in the grass and riding around in our wagon while Jared worked at hanging the swings. The boys loved watching Nestle play fetch and of course pulling up on their wagon:

Did I mention that we are working on "sharing"?

I think they enjoy their new swings, what do you think? :o)

After such a fun and BUSY day the boys enjoyed reading their bedtime story and were in bed by 6:30pm! I'm sure they will have sweet dreams and will be ready to go again in the morning!

Beautiful Weekend (Part 1)

I'm sure you all know, but I am a summer girl at heart and was so incredibly happy to have such a beautiful weekend this weekend!!

Saturday we went on a family walk, played with our toys in the yard, and enjoyed eating the pine straw and leaves.

Hanging Out Around the House

The boys LOVE having full reign of the house (and of course I'm loving chasing them everywhere!) and every now and then they will sit in their exersaucers and jumperoo for a few minutes, but it's not long before they want to be back out and crawling!

Anna and William come to visit!!

One of my best friends, Anna, and her little boy, William, came to visit us last week. We were SO excited to have them come and play with us for a few days since they live in Birmingham and we miss them WAY too much!! I call Anna my "Mommy 911" since she has very similar parenting styles to mine and especially since William is 11 months older than the boys. She is expecting her second baby this March and he is going to be such a great big brother! It was so crazy to see William and to think that the boys will be walking and talking up a storm like him this time next year!

We also had fun trying to make cotton candy...we were able to get a little bit on our sticks but had a lot of fun trying!

We took William to feed the goats that live at a house near ours:

Carter and William hanging out...William had fun playing with all of the baby toys!

Our attempt to get the three of the boys together in a picture:

Takin' a bite out of....my brother

The boys have LOVED their new playroom and I have loved the time it gives me to put some clothes in the washing machine, run the dishwasher, etc. Except in the last week the boys have decided to suddenly become possessive of their toys, and needless to say we have begun working on "sharing" and NOT biting which means that I pretty much take them with me anywhere and everywhere that I go to so I can play referee between these two little munchkins. Apparently, I am not as quick as I thought I was because Coleman managed to take a bite out of Carter's cheek and he has the war wound to prove it...

Let Me In!!!

This video is hilarious! Carter wouldn't let Coleman into their "house". Enjoy!

Say Cheese!

I try to take pictures of the boys each day, whether they're usually playing, so today I tried to get some shots where they were both actually looking at me and here's what I got:

What's Cookin'?

I found this cute little "toddler kitchen" for the boys to play with and brought it out the other day to see how they would react. They LOVED it! I can't wait until they're old enough to actually help me cook.... :o)

Carter

Carter is the busiest of my two little munchkins but he also knows how to turn on the charm and smile so big that you forget what it was he was doing wrong. I thought the shirt the boys wore today was pretty fitting for his little smile in a few (thousand if you ask their Daddy) years...

We like to play with....everything

Now that the boys are crawling they are pretty much into anything and everything! The kitchen is a pretty safe spot for them as far as things they can get into with all of the cabinets having been child proofed, etc. but tonight they discovered something new~ a door stopper. Now what in the world could be more fun than a door stopper?! Don't worry, we are soon about to child proof these as well but it made for a pretty cute picture as they used some team work to see if they could get it off themselves...

Snow Day!!!

Anything more than a quarter of an inch of snow in Georgia shuts the town down, so you can imagine the mad dash for milk and bread when we got 7 inches of snow a week ago! Instead of making sure we were stocked up on milk and bread though I made sure that we had plenty of diapers, wipes, and baby food! Good thing I did because with all of the snow and ice we were stuck in the house for 5 days! That was totally fine by me though since I had plenty of unpacking and organizing to do so it gave me an excuse to get going. Here are some pictures of the boys playing in the snow. They loved it!

Getting ready to go outside...I dressed the boys in so many layers that they couldn't move! It was like the little boy from the movie, A Christmas Story. Hilarious!

Fun in the snow!

How did people used to live?

It's so funny how our lifestyles are ingrained into using technology in your everyday world. We FINALLY had our internet and cable installed yesterday and you would've thought that we struck oil the way we celebrated to be back in touch with the "real world". We had been using a mifi that Jared has for work to occasionally surf the web, but let's just say that uploading pictures was not its forte...it took me over 3 hours to upload the pictures you saw on the last two posts! So needless to say, I decided that I could spend my time doing many other things around the house than trying to upload pictures all night. But now we are back on track, so let the blog updating begin!!!

Let's Go Falcons!!

So, I think I've posted about this before but I am not your typical girl when it comes to sports. I LOVE to watch football, baseball, soccer, just about anything sports related (besides bowling) and there is nothing better than a sports game live.

Jared and I took a break from unpacking the million and one boxes to head off to the Falcons last home game. It was great just to have a break from the busyness and to just sit back and be entertained. Crossing my fingers that we'll be watching them in the Super Bowl (although that one I will watch on tv)!

New House!!

Okay, so it isn't brand new but it's new to us! We were/are so excited about our new home after looking at over 100 (yes, over 100) homes and finding one that met most of our criteria. The main hurdle we had to jump, and are going to be jumping for years to come, is that our new home was built in the mid 80's and had not been updated since. Not a huge deal since it was totally live-able but we decided to tackle having it painted and working on the kitchen for now. It's amazing what a few coats of paint and changing out some small things can do!

As I'm typing this I'm realizing that I still need to take some "after" pictures! Here are a few...the kitchen is more complete now and we are waiting on some of the hardware to come in obviously, but it is already my favorite room in the house!
