Coleman's Interpretive Dance

The boys crack me up on a daily basis, especially with their "conversations" to each other and their random babbling. It is by far the cutest thing to watch and makes me smile just thinking about it. I was able to catch Coleman's interpretive dance the other day on my camera...I wish I would have videotaped his singing to go along with it...

Attached at the hip

I can't put into words how much these boys make my heart smile more and more each day, but they are also loving to grab onto me more and more each day and refusing to let go! This is often my view...too cute to get frustrated at but also makes it tough to walk anywhere...

Lovin' this weather!!!

We had the most beautiful weekend and couldn't help but to be outside enjoying the sunshine and hoping that it is here to stay. The boys "helped" their Daddy assemble a fun slide/climber for the backyard, swung on their swings, and even painted their first masterpiece with finger paints....although they really wanted to eat the paint. Hopefully this week will be just as beautiful so we can play outside some more!

Carter

As I mentioned yesterday, I am taking a day to focus on each of our little guys separately. Today's day is Carter (aka Carter Bug).

Carter has a smile that can melt your heart in two seconds flat. When he smiles it is with his whole body and you can truly see the joy in his eyes. He is the most independent of the two boys when it comes to being a "go getter" and exploring. He often wakes up first in the mornings and most of the time shakes his crib rail and yells for us because he is ready to start his day and I honestly think he feels like he is missing out on something! He goes from 90 to nothing and before crashing for his nap and definitely keeps me on my toes.

Carter has become quite the Mommas boy lately and can often be found wrapped around my leg or reaching for a hug. This is ironic considering his personality and independence. Carter is a mover and groover...he loves moving from one activity to the next but does anything and everything with a smile!

Carter LOVES to make all kinds of sounds but his favorite one is when he sucks in his breath and makes this dragon kind of noise. He is also quite the grabber and anything and everything within his little reach is fair game.

One of my favorite things about Carter are his poses. He loves to cross his legs when he's in his high chair, put his feet up on the bar when he's riding in the stroller, and just make himself comfortable anywhere and everywhere. I love it!!!

Carter truly has a love of life and so does his brother. I am head over heels in love with all three of my guys and feel more blessed with each passing day!!

Coleman

I decided that a lot of my blog posts typically revolve around both of the munchkins, so I thought that I would take a day today and a day tomorrow to post about each of them separately and their unique personalities and traits. So, today's post is about my first born (by 2 whole minutes), Coleman...who I like to call C-man.

Jared nailed it on the head the other day when he said that Coleman was a "sweet soul". He truly is and that's pretty typical of his personality morning, noon, and night. If he is the first to wake up in the morning it is rare that I hear him crying or see him shaking his crib in the monitor (you'll understand more of that in Carter's post tomorrow), but instead he begins his day by talking...sounds like his mom already! He LOVES to babble and his most common "word" is dadadada...over and over again, until yesterday! He started saying mommomomom....still pretty sure it has nothing to do with me but it's exciting nonetheless.

Coleman is quick to smile and just as quick to bite. Yes, you read that right. He is constantly smiling but also loves to crawl after his brother and bite him...It's definitely been a challenge and Carter has the war wounds to prove it but with that sweet soul of his I know that it is unintentional and not out of spite. Coleman is also VERY ticklish...just like his Mom on that one too! He loves to be tickled on his neck and toes and has the cutest little laugh to go along with that smile of 6 teeth. He also is my eater out of the two. He will let you know when he is done with his "baby" food, but when it comes to puffs, cheerios, or any other finger food he seems to have an endless pit in that tummy of his!

Coleman also loves to clap, make indian noises (with his hand over his mouth) and now walk with his walker. He is SUCH a joy to be around and truly a blessing to both Jared and I. The past 11 months seem like such a whirlwind and I am so proud of the little boy he is already becoming...now if we can just get that biting under control!

Shoppin'

The boys really are good shoppers and we do move pretty quickly through the store except for the fact that they want to flirt with everyone they see. We are on the hunt for new couches this weekend (and it was definitely a hunt!) and brought our key decision makers along with us. We weren't up for having them crawl around on the couches (and I'm sure the sales people were glad that we didn't) but we found a fun chair for picture purposes :o)

Boys will be boys

One of Coleman and Carter's favorite things to do is to look at the window. They especially love when the garbage or recycling truck comes by and wherever they are they will both crawl to the window and bang on the glass out of excitement. I was able to capture them this morning as I snuck outside to get those cute faces in the window. If only the garbage man knew what a hit he was!

I like to move it, move it...

Typical of our little munchkins they seemed to know that I had just posted on here about their progress and milestones....so they decided to add another one to the mix. They both started WALKING with their activity walkers. This was crazy to watch because I have honestly pulled out the walkers no less than a dozen times and neither of them seemed to want to have anything to do with them.

Wednesday morning Coleman started first by taking a few steps and pushing it across their playroom and Carter was still interested in just pushing it on his knees, but after his morning nap he was ready to go too! Here are some videos I was able to get of my little guys on the move...I think it's only going to get a little bit busier around here!

Wordless Wednesday

Happy Valentines Day!!!

I had a great time celebrating a little early Valentines Day with Jared over the weekend by going to dinner and a marriage seminar at church, so Monday morning we celebrated the boys first Valentines Day. The weather was BEAUTIFUL so I took them on a run (their first in the jogging stroller...they loved it!), and out to run a few errands. Of course I had the hardest time getting both of them to look at me for a picture, but here are some of my little valentines!

Big Boys!

Coleman and Carter are becoming such big boys!! I still can't believe that they will be turning one in less than a month...what happened to my little 5lb babies?! I am sad to watch them grow up so quickly, but I am also overwhelmed with joy to see them reach milestones and become so independent.

Here are a few things the boys are doing lately:

~They are both pulling up on anything and everything and are beginning to "cruise" across the room using furniture and anything in their way (including each other).
~They are starting to eat more and more "real people food" including chopped up sweet potatoes, toast with jelly, pancakes, bananas, avacados, and a few other things.
~They are also beginning to drink whole milk and we are focusing on transitioning from bottles to sippy cups.

These are just a few of the fun things that they are doing as of late! I can't wait for many more to come!

Two Years

It has been 2 years today since Jared's brain surgery. We have experienced SO many incredible blessings over this time. You can read Jared's journal entry here. I am so proud of my husband for his amazing faith and love of God...he is my rock!

Busy Weekend!!

We had a busy weekend this weekend but it was tons of fun! We began scouting out new car seats for our big boys...you can see how much Carter really enjoyed this one..x

It was a cold weekend here, but that didn't stop us from bundling up the boys and taking them outside to swing on their swings...

They had so much fun that Carter fell asleep from all of the excitement...

The boys really do love each other so much! It is so cute to watch them crawl by each other and laugh. This morning they held hands for the longest time....too sweet!

My New Favorite Toy

Sometimes I wonder why we even buy toys! It seems like the boys would much rather play with a box, tupperware, Nestle, and really anything that they are not supposed to (wires, outlets, etc). The other morning I gave Carter a wooden spoon to play with and use to bang on the tupperware and he LOVES it! It is now his new favorite toy and he has only bonked his brother in the head accidentally once...so far so good! He carries it all around the kitchen with him....maybe I should put him to work as my new baker!

Fun at Music Class

The boys are back in music class and are having a blast!! It is cute to see how much they have progressed from when they could barely sit on their own to them crawling around the room like mad men trying to take everyone else's instruments (did I mention we were working on the sharing thing?). Although they are enjoying shaking and banging on things at home, they still seem to like to put everything just in their mouths at music...especially the scarves!

Carter

Carter is a little bit, okay a LOT a bit, of a roly poly when it comes to getting his diaper changed, dressed for the day, etc. This morning was no exception as I tried to get myself ready and both both boys fed, changed, clothed and in their car seats for music. I think I was ready for a nap by 9am! Carter refused to get dressed and I finally let him win the battle for a minute while I got Coleman dressed...Here is a picture of my shoe eating and clotheless child.
