I was so excited about Dave and Mercy's baby shower this weekend and cannot wait to be an aunt! It was a couples diaper shower and I think the guys had just as good of a time as the girls.
I decided to try out some new cake pops and brownie pops to celebrate the occasion and I think they turned out pretty cute.

Zoo Time
We decided to get a season pass to the zoo since it is such a fun thing to do and the boys really enjoy animals...although their all time favorite is by far Nestle. Yesterday was SUCH a beautiful day, so zoo bound we were and we asked Nana if she'd like to join in the fun.
The boys loved seeing all of the animals and Coleman managed to try and have his own little conversation with the panda bear while she was eating.
Of course we had to go to the petting zoo! Coleman LOVED touching all of the animals, but he is not the gentlest when it comes to petting and was trying to grab and squeeze their ears and fur. Thank goodness they were patient with him and we were quick to grab those little hands when they got too tight! He is slowly learning though and I know he is going to love the petting zoo this season as he gets more used to it!
Carter on the other hand was much more comfortable in my arms and preferred to look at the animals..not touch a single one. He does love to pet Nestle, so hopefully he'll warm up to the goats, pigs, and sheep soon!
Then it was off to ride the choo choo train...Carter was okay with it and was really interested in trying to look around and figure it all out, but Coleman cried pretty much the whole time...it was loud and he is not a fan of loud noises (which is why I have to vacuum at night when they're asleep too!). I'm sure he'll grow out of that soon though and will love riding the choo choo! I know I did :o)
All in all it was a great day and the boys were wiped out from their adventures!

I like to move it, move it...
Coleman and Carter crack me up on a daily basis. Life has definitely become more interesting around here as they have become quite the fast crawlers and of course are pulling up on anything and everything and think the world is their oyster (which it pretty much is as far as I'm concerned!). They LOVE to explore the house and always seem to want to be into something they shouldn't be...no surprise on being a boy and doing that I guess! One of their favorite things to do is crawl around the house and "chase" each other now and then laugh when they catch each other...it's adorable. I was able to capture Coleman as he was on the hunt for Carter yesterday morning.
The boys are also starting to "twin talk" a ton! In case you aren't sure what that is it just means they're basically making all kinds of noises and babbling at each other and it's directly towards one another...they've even developed their own little laugh that they do towards one another...I'm already starting to feel left out of their conversations!

Fun in the Sun!!!
I am absolutely LOVING this weather and all of the fun things that come along with it!! It is hard to believe that this time last year our little guys were still in the NICU and we were wrapping our heads around being parents. Time has truly flown and it was such a blessing to be with all three of my boys today as we enjoyed the sunshine and warmth! We conquered some chores in the yard while the boys were napping before heading to the park to enjoy the day.
After our adventures in the park we came home and all enjoyed our other favorite...mexican food! The boys had their first taste and I think they were fans:
After dinner, we enjoyed some family time outside in our sunroom before the boys headed off to bed. LOVE Spring time!!!

Birmingham Bound!!
Yesterday the boys an I decided to take a road trip for them to meet two of their future girlfriends (and for me to see these cute girls mommies too!). We started our day off as soon as it was time for the boys morning nap and they were snoozing along great until we ran into traffic on I-20 and came to a complete stop. Needless to say, it wound up being a LONG car ride for Coleman, Carter, and I. We made a pit stop at Chikfila before finally making it to Kelley's house to visit with Miss Lily who just turned one!
We had a great time playing with all of Lily's toys and taking over her house as fast as we could with all of our gear and two crawling and curious boys. Lily is the cutest thing and it was so awesome to get to see the three of them play together. I just wish that we lived closer so that this could be a weekly playdate!!
After visiting with Miss Lily and Kelley we headed off to Anna's house to see our other girlfriend who is now a week old! Yup, a one year old and a one week old are our girlfriends :o). Miss Virginia was so sweet and has the best personality already! I couldn't help but smile at what a cute family Anna, Ryan, William and now Miss Virginia are!! It was really hard for me to leave them and say goodbye...good thing we will be back soon for William's 2nd birthday party!!

Big Boys, Big Falls!
Today was the boys 1 year check up at the doctor's office. Since we are on an alternative vaccine schedule they were only due for one shot instead of many but that turned out to be the least exciting event of the day.
While the doctor (whom I think is amazing) was checking Coleman's ears, etc. while he was lying on the exam table I was busy asking about a zillion questions. She turned to answer my questions and I guess got so caught up in our conversation that she took her hand off of Coleman. Before anyone in the room could react he had rolled off of the table and onto the floor. Thankfully, he landed mainly on his bottom and then rolled backwards but it still scared him (and all of us) to death and let's just say it took a few minutes for him to calm down and for my heart to get back into my chest. She checked him out and of course she felt terrible, but the good news is that he is fine without any bumps or bruises after such a fall.
Carter on the other hand was crawling and pulling up on the ottoman in our den and fell, but as he fell he hit his forehead on the corner of the ottoman and has a line and bruise already to show for it. He was not a big fan of the ice but we were able to get it on his head for a few minutes. Not even an hour later I was changing Coleman's diaper in their playroom when Carter climbed up on his anywhere chair (basically a kids cushioned chair) and fell backwards landing on his back and head. After some Mommy snuggles and kisses he was right back to being Mr. Curious and seems fine also.
So all in all, the Haden boys had a pretty eventful and not so wonderful day today. Bless their little hearts! I'm hoping tomorrow brings smiles, sunshine, and lots of good times.
There are so many changes that all start tomorrow for these big guys! Up until now they have had a few things of table food, but mainly goldfish, cheerios and puffs were their snacks. Starting tomorrow we are moving towards 3 meals of table food (they can now eat anything that we eat) and are eliminating the formula for whole milk and working on switching from bottles to sippy cups. I'll start in a transition stage of course instead of doing everything all at once, but it's still hard to believe that they are no longer "babies" but are now considered toddlers!
Here are their stats today at their visit:
Carter~ 19.1lbs and 29.75 inches (he is finally beating his brother in weight and height!)
Coleman~ 18.12lbs and 29.5 inches
Here's Carter at lunch after their appointment...apparently he is ready to start more table food today!

It's Fun, Fun to be One!!
We had SO much fun celebrating the boys first birthday with such wonderful friends and family over the weekend. We were so blessed to have friends from Georgia, North Carolina, and Alabama come to join in on such a fun celebration. I was nervous that the boys would not have a good nap that day and would be cranky, but they slept from 10-1pm and stayed up all afternoon! They did great with having so many people and so much love in their house and definitely enjoyed eating their smash cakes. I know the boys will never remember this birthday, but Jared and I will definitely never forget it!!
Here are just a few of the many many pictures that were taken.
